Obituary

Marjorie Ellen Stephens Haskett, 83, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Saturday at Williamsburg Healthcare.

Mrs. Haskett was born June 8, 1925 in Montgomery County to Otis William and Elsie Maude Porter Stephens.

She was a 1943 graduate of Crawfordsville High School. She married Joseph B. Haskett on Oct. 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2006. She had worked at Goodman's, as a bookkeeper for Golden Rule, and had worked for Kroger Deli. She was a member of the Garfield Church, VFW, and American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by sons, Bill (Kathy) Haskett of Colorado Springs, Co., Dan (Vicki) Haskett of Hill Top, Texas; daughters, Cheryl (Gary) Douglas of New Market and Karen France of Crawfordsville; brother, Bob (Mickie) Stephens of Crawfordsville; Mildred Hood of Crawfordsville, Jean Shephard of Rockville and Ruthanna Martz of Las Vegas, Nev.; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her brother, George Stephens; and sisters, Katherine Smalley and Rebecca Jeffrey.

Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. George Dosher officiating. Burial is at Oak Hill Cemetery South.

Friends and family can pay their respects from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
