Marjorie A. Vaughn, 85, Crawfordsville
passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at her
home.
She was born July 8, 1927, in Crawfordsville,
to Byron Cloyce and Opal Faye (Dicken)
Hamm.
She was married Nov. 27, 1945, to John
Junior Abney. They later divorced. She then
married Donald W. Vaughn on April 6, 1956,
and they divorced. Both husbands preceded
her in death.
Ms.Vaughn worked at the Normandy Cafe,
Carl Earl's Restaurant and the Holiday Inn,
Crawfordsville. She also worked for The Shell
Factory and Lee County School System in
North Fort Myers, Fla., where she retired. She
attended Crawfordsville High School. Ms.
Vaughn enjoyed reading, working word search
puzzles, and she loved spending time with
her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra
Shillings of Crawfordsville and Donna (Don)
Holt of North Fort Myers, Fla. She also is survived
by three sons, Roger (Jo) Abney of North
Fort Myers, Fla., Mark Abney of Carbon, Ind.,
and Lindsey (Pam) Abney of Crawfordsville.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 22
great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandchild.
Also surviving are three brothers,
Ramon (Rita) Hamm, Damon (Patty) Hamm
and Byron (Bert) Hamm Jr. and several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded
in death by grandson Jeremy Abney,
granddaughter Alicia Stamper, sister Velma
Ritter and her parents.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday
at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant
Ave., Crawfordsville, with Darren Jensen officiating.
Visitation will be two hours before the
service. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery on
South Grant Avenue.
