Martha J. "Marty" Cohee passed away peacefully at Wellbrooke on  Friday, Jan. 27, 2017.

Marty was born Nov. 18, 1923, at Darlington, to Leroy and Nellie Weliever. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1941. She attended Business College in Indianapolis.

She married John Cohee on May 30, 1943. They owned Marty's Gift Store from 1956 until they retired in 1980.

She enjoyed traveling and visited every state except Alaska. She also enjoyed playing bridge, working puzzles and attending Trinity Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Cohee and daughter-in-law Cheryl Bowman-Cohee; grandchildren Ty and Christina Cohee; and great-granddaughter Audri Lynne Cohee; grandchildren, Travis and Brittani Cohee; and great-grandchildren, Sutton Kay and Sawyer John Cohee. She is also survived by several special nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband of 61 years, John, and four sisters, Dorothy Cox, Marian Albertson, Bidgie Cunningham and Esther Irons.

Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, at Hunt and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington.
