Mary Jane Chesterson

Mary Jane Chesterson, 96, passed away July 3, 2026 at Whitlock Place in Crawfordsville. She was born on December 2, 1929 in Crawfordsville to Raymond and Mary Chesterson.

After graduating from Crawfordsville High School, she attended Depauw University, majoring in education and then went on to get her Master’s Degree from Vanderbilt University. She then taught at Wilson and Hoover Elementary Schools. She had been a member of First Baptist Church and attended Rock Point Church.

Surviving is her niece, Linda Kostelnik, nephews; Dr. Thomas Lahr and Fred W. Lahr, Jr. great nephews; John Kostelnik and Ryan Kostelnik, great nieces; Lauryn Lahr and Katy Lahr.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 AM. She will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery on Grant Avenue.
