Obituary

Mary Ann Gibbs, 80, died Monday
afternoon in Crawfordsville.
Mrs. Gibbs worked for R.R. Donnelley
& Sons for a number of years. She
served as Deputy Montgomery County
Recorder for three years before being
elected county recorder in 1984 and
again in 1988. After completing her second
term she continued clerking in the
recorder's office before retiring in 1997.
She was a member of First Baptist
Church and the Alpha Chi Sunday
School class. She was a CareShare
leader and meals-on-wheels driver. She
graduated from Waynetown High
School.
She was born April 5, 1929, in Lansing,
Ill., to Floyd and Edna Bray but
lived most of her life in Montgomery
County. She married Jim Gibbs in 1949.
Survivors include children Treena
Wilkins, Aurora, Ill., and Barry Gibbs,
Panama City Beach, Fla.; one brother,
Donald (Liz) Bray of Crawfordsville;
three grandsons; one great-granddaughter;
and one great-grandson.
Gibbs was preceded in death by two
brothers, Robert Bray of Crawfordsville,
and Roselle of Waynetown; and several
nieces and newphews.

Funeral services are scheduled for
11 a.m. Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral
Home. Burial will be at Waynetown
Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call
from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the
funeral home.
