Mary J. Paxton of Crawfordsville died Friday in her daughter's
home. She was 74.
Her memberships included Pleasant Hill Church of Christ
and Covered Bridge Home Ec Club in Parke County.
She was born Aug. 8, 1936, at Brazil, to Clifford and Lillie
(Lucas) Crabb. She married Perry Paxton on Feb. 19, 1956, at
Brazil. He died Sept. 14, 2007.
Survivors include four sons, Ashley (Donna) Paxton of New
Market, Allan (Sherri) Paxton of Rockville, Kevin (Kylie) Paxton
of Cayuga and Jason (Alisha) Paxton of Bloomingdale; four
daughters, Cindy (Pud) Patton of Tangier, Becky (Howard)
Ambrose of Ladoga, Georgia (John) Birchfield of Crawfordsville
and Sue (Wade) Frazee of Hillsboro; a sister, Gincie Cooksey of
Brazil; 24 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at
Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., with the Rev. Alan
Goff officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends
may call from 4-8 p.m.Tuesday
