Mary A. Walters, 90, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at her home surrounded by family.

Mary was born February 26, 1929 in Crawfordsville to Earl M. and Nellie (Hadley) Williams.

Mary graduated from New Ross High School in 1947, she was the class Vice President. After graduation, Mary worked as a secretary for an attorney, then as a secretary at Ben Hur Life Association. Mary then stayed home to raise five children. In later years Mary worked in the Assessor's office for 3 years while helping out in other offices in the Courthouse. Mary then worked at Clements-Roscher before going to Elston Bank as a teller and PBX operator. Mary then went to work at the Journal Review, MidStates Wire for 6 ½ years and finally retiring from Lithonia (Acuity Lighting) in 1999 after 14 ½ years.

Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending grandkids sporting events and birthday parties.

Mary is survived by daughter Pam (Ron) Zachary of Crawfordsville; Sons Jeff (Brenda) Walters of New Ross; Larry (Deb) Walters of New Ross; Mike (Debra) Walters of Brownsburg; 17 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; brother Homer Williams of New Ross; sister Doris (Jim) Dice of Monmouth, IL; and close friends Nancy Myers, Lissa Mason and Karma Boyd.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Connie Truax; son in law Ron Zachary; Great-grandchildren Allie Sue Barger, Tyler James Russell and Caitlyn Switzer; Brothers Harold and Howard Williams; sisters Nina Evans, Helen Williamson and Aileen Young; Brother-in-laws Richard Pullen, Bill Young, Tom Evans and Bob Williamson; sister-in-laws Mary Alice Williams and Dorothy Williams.

Family and friends may call from 12-2pm Wednesday October 16 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with services at 2pm. Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at New Ross Cemetery.
