Maureen Michels, 75 of Crawfordsville, formerly of Tinsley Park IL, passed away Saturday at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.

She was born February 23, 1942 in Chicago to Thomas & Mary Sullivan Emmet. She was a "city girl" who later moved to Tinley Park where she lived for over 30 years. She worked as a personal banker in the Chicago area.

Maureen was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, and a past member of Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Tinley Park.

She is survived by her children, Therese (Francois) Murphy-Paquin, Montreal, Quebec; Jim (Janeane) Murphy, Crawfordsville, IN; Sean (Karla) Murphy, San Tan, AZ; and Patrick (Beverly) Murphy, Claremore, OK. Grandchildren, Cassandra Brainard, Craig Brainard, James Murphy, Christian Paquin, Arianne, Paquin, Chelsey Murphy, and Alec Murphy.

Her surviving siblings include Robert, Suzanne, Joanne, and Patti.

Maureen was preceded in death by her husbands James Murphy III and John Michels as well as brothers Thomas and John.

A funeral mass will be held 1:30PM Tuesday January 2 and St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father Christopher Shocklee officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 Tuesday at the church.
