Obituary

Max L. Richardson, 77 of New Ross passed away Thursday at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
He retired from Praxair in Indianapolis as a quality control specialist. Max was a member of Mace United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee, and Walnut Township Fire Department, where he served as fire chief for several years. He served on the New Ross Town Board, where he was past president for many years. Max also served his community by being on the Walnut Township Advisory Board and volunteering with He-Men of Walnut Township. He was also a former member of New Ross Conservation Club and New Ross Community Club. Max was a supporter of Southmont Marching Band, and he coached softball in Walnut Township for many years. He loved woodworking, plowing gardens with his Ford tractor, and drinking coffee with the morning crew. The joy in his life was his granddaughter, Maddie, who he loved to take golf cart rides with and watch play sports and dance.
He was born July 31, 1937, in Waveland to Russell & Esther Hunt Richardson. He married Kay Hedrick on October 19, 1963, she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Amy Parker, of Crawfordsville; sisters, Janet Peters and Pat Stemick of Crawfordsville; granddaughter, Maddie Parker, of Crawfordsville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00am Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Tami Mussche officiating. Interment will be in the Alamo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-6 Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Mace United Methodist Church or Walnut Township Fire Department.
