CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN / FORT FAIRFIELD, ME - Melvin E. Rich, 66, passed away unexpectedly on July 28, 2021.  He was born July 17, 1955, in Crawfordsville, IN., the son of James E. and Alice B. (Wilson) Rich.

Melvin grew up in Fort Fairfield, ME and graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1973.  Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his country proudly.  He enjoyed working many years on air as a radio announcer, and driving tractor trailer trucks throughout the United States. The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Melvin, especially telling jokes and stories.  His failing health over the years slowed Melvin down and eventually stopped him from doing a lot of the things he enjoyed.

He was predeceased by his father, James E. Rich, mother, Alice B. Wilson Rich, brother CJ Rich, step-father, Jim Mills, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  He is survived by his son Travis J. Rich and fiancé Danielle Daigle of St. David, ME; brother, James E. Rich II of Crawfordsville, IN; former wife, Lorraine I. Glew Rich of Grand Isle, ME, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his furry companions Missy and Moonie.

A private burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, ME.
