Michael J. Emmert, 66 of Darlington went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.
He was born January 22, 1952, in Crawfordsville to James & Nancy Groendyke Emmert. Mike was a graduate of Darlington High School and Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. He was an Engineer for Caterpillar for 13 years and was a farmer. He was a member and deacon of Rock Point Church, The Gideons, and Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity at Purdue. Most importantly he loved Jesus and sharing that love with others.
Mike married Patricia K. VanDeWater on August 26, 1978. She survives. Also surviving are his sons Patrick (Rachel) Emmert of Richardson, TX; Daniel (Larcy) Emmert of Monroe City, IN; Jonathan (Lindsay) Emmert of Clarks Hill; and Phillip (Lauren) Emmert of Darlington. He also has brothers Steve of Darlington and Joe of Franklin as well as sisters Janet Miller of Greenwood and Jeanie Wray of Crawfordsville. Mike had 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 4:00pm Friday at Rock Point Church with Pastor Terry Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 12-4pm Friday at the Church. A graveside will be held at 10:00am Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Darlington.
