Mitchell "Mike" Shrout, 77, Crawfordsville, passed away 12:35 PM Tuesday July 4th at St. Clare Medical Center.

Mr. Shrout worked as a mechanic for Community Oldsmobile and as a scale operator for the Crawfordsville landfill. He attended Friendship Baptist Church and served in the United States Navy from 1946 until 1949.

Mr. Shrout was born on December 28, 1928 in Ladoga to Willard Shrout & Mable Plunket Shrout and attended Ladoga schools. On August 29, 1950 he married Betty Davis in Lafayette and she survives.

Also surving are a son, Stephen (Mary) Shrout of Georgia and a daughter, Becky (Neil) Barclay of Crawfordsville and a brother, Lewis Shrout of Ladoga.

In addition, 5 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild and 5 great grandchildren survive. He is preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday July 7 at 3:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Michael Wren officiating. Burial with military rites by the VFW & American Legion will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Friends may call from 1:00pm until services Friday in the funeral home.
