Nancy Emmert, 86, of Darlington, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, at home.
She was born Feb. 1,1925, in Crawfordsville, and was the daughter of Leroy and Nora Ward Groendike. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School.
On Feb. 14, 1943, she married James Emmert, and she survives.
Mrs. Emmert was a homemaker. She was a member of Darlington East Christian Church, Naomi Fellowship at the church. She enjoyed gardening and ceramics.
Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Clara Jean Wray of Darlington and Janet Sue Miller (husband: Jim) of Greenwood; three sons, Steven G. Emmert (wife: Sue) and Mike J. Emmert (husband: Patty), both of Darlington, and Joseph A Emmert of Franklin; and a sister, Jean Foxworthy of Murphy, N.C.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Groendike.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Darlington East Christian Church, Pastor Ben Hitzfeld officiating. Burial in Darlington Greenlawn Cemetery.
