Nellie Gleason Dodds, 96, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday evening at the Lane House Nursing Home.
She was a 1928 graduate of Crawfordville High School. Upon graduation she was employed in the office of Dr. H.W. Sigmonds who operated an x-ray laboratory in the Ben Hur Building. After Dr. Sigmonds death in 1933, she then worked for Dr. Wemple Dodds who opened a clinical x-ray laboratory in Culver Hospital. She was a certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in 1939. She retired in 1975.
On June 12, 1978 she married Dr. Wemple Dodds in St. Anne's Church in New Castle, IN.
She was born on December 18, 1909 at Mecca, IN to Michael and Mable Fishers Gleason.
Her memberships included St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 50 year member of the Omega Chapter of Delta Sigma Kappa sorority, Group "B" of Art League, Montgomery County Historical Society and the Golden Group at St. Bernard's.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. H.E.(Ruth) Schaller of Highland, IN. Nieces, Kathy (Schaller) Saunders of Cincinnati, Debbie Barber of Iowa, nephews, Michael Schaller of Hobart, IN, Andy Schaller of Aurora, CO, Kirk Miller of Texas and Brad Miller of Kansas.
Her husband preceded her in death on April 17, 1983. Also two brothers, Paul and Francis Gleason and sisters, Catherine Gleason, Mary Reinert and Genevieve Babricki are deceased.
Funeral Mass will be 1:00 PM Monday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Father David Hellman officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling will be 11:00 AM until services Monday in the church.
