Oakel G. Okie Tribbett, 89, Crawfordsville died Sunday morning with his family beside him at his home. A long time Crawfordsville resident was married to Patsy R. Plunkett in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1982.
He was born February 16, 1926 near Shannondale to John O and O. Helen McDowell Tribbett. He is survived by a son Roger (Linda) Tribbett of Greencastle, Daughter Marcia Jo (Richard) Newton of Linden. Four grandchildren Summer, Jacob, Jared and Rachel; four great grandchildren Dylan, Kadyn, Emilia, and Graham. One sister Jane Abston of Darlington who he raised since the age of 9, and many nieces and nephews.
He attended Whitesville and Ladoga Schools. He retired from RR Donnelly's after 38 years. He belonged to the Eagles and the Sons of American Legion. He loved basketball, hunting, fishing and playing Euchre and especially mowing yards. He attended Milligan Memorial Church
He was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, Grandson Dan Perry, four brothers John, Otis (his twin), David and Gene; as well as 3 sisters Tress, Marilyn and Dorothy.

Friends may call from 10-1 Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with a private graveside service to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Milligan Memorial Church.
