Olive Nadine Steele passed away November 23, 2017. She was born April 19, 1923 in Darlington. She was the daughter of Robert and Lanie Emmons Hayes. She graduated from Darlington High School in 1941.

She married Robert L. Steele on June 20, 1942. She worked at RR Donnelley Company before becoming a full time homemaker and mother. She later worked at Initially Gift Shop for eight years.  She has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1947. She served on several boards, was a member of the Open Door Class, Keenagers and was the Children's Church music director for 26 years. She enjoyed gardening, singing, traveling and being with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet (Robert) Smiley, her son Wayne, and her grandchildren Jenny (Tim) Veatch, Jason (Ashli) Smiley, Ryan (Kara) Steele, and Lindsey (Sean) Mulholland as well as great-grandchildren Sidney Hayes, Chelsea Veatch, Micah Steele, Joanna Nadine Steele, Bentley Mulholland and Hadley Mulholland.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Tami Mussche officiating.  Visitation will be from 11-1 Monday.  A family graveside service will be held following the service at Oak Hill Cemetery Grant Ave.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Open Door Sunday School class in Olive's name.
