Payton Royce Kobel, 20 of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Bloomington, IN.

Payton was born in Lafayette on June 28, 1999 to Wallace "Rocky" & Krista West Kobel.

Payton was directly admitted into the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington where he was a Dean's List student and Provost scholarship recipient. He was a 2018 graduate of North Montgomery High School where he was class Salutatorian. He was an academic all-state athlete in Track and Football at North Montgomery. Payton recently joined the Post #72 Sons of the American Legion.

Payton is survived by his parents Rocky and Krista, brother Kade, and grandmother Karen West. He was preceded in death by his grandparents David West and Wally & Judy Kobel.

Payton was a huge Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and IU fan. He was also an avid reader on many topics.

Payton was a very intelligent, handsome, independent, funny, dry humor, and an adorably quick-witted soul. He liked to think he was a euchre guru and pong King but his buddies might argue! He so loved hanging out with his friends. Payton left an impression with all that he met. Hold on to those fond memories. He will be missed and loved beyond comprehension forever! May he Rest in Eternal Peace.

A Celebration of his life/visitation will be held from 2-7pm Thursday, March 5 ^th with a Memorial at 7:00pm at Hidden Hollow Farm, 4519 W 300 N, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
