Penny Hendricks, 74, of Crawfordsville, passed away Nov. 26, 2020, due to covid complications at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born June 15, 1946 in Crawfordsville. Penny graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1964 and attended Harold's Beauty Academy in Terre Haute, IN. Later in life she became a certified Activities Director at Indiana Central, Social Services Designer at Ball State University, and certification in Social Services at Georgia State University.

Penny married her high school sweetheart, the late Gene Hendricks in June, 1965.  Besides Gene, she was also preceded in death by parents Don and Anna White, sister Vivian Phillips, and great grand-darling Caitlynn Fletcher. She is survived by her sons Greg(Dara) Hendricks and Mark Hendricks; brother Mike White; and sisters Denise Hauenstein and Debbie Stanley. She is also survived by her grand-darlings, Bethany(Dan) Freeman, Avarie Keedy, and Tiffany Hendricks as well as great grand-darlings Kenna, Vayda, and Ruby.

Penny was a loving, caring, giving wife, Mother, and Mamaw. To her dying day, she was always there to help others. The quote she submitted for her class reunion profile sums her up best- "I haven't won the Lotto or Publisher's Clearing House, or gone to the moon, but I keep in touch with friends and close to family- all the riches anyone could really wish for"  Our hearts will forever have an irreplaceable void.

Due to the current pandemic situation, the family will be holding only a graveside service at Oak Hill Grant Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 2:00 P.M. Social distancing is expected to be followed and masks will be required for those who choose to attend. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
