Perry E. Paxton, 76, Darlington, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Mr. Paxton retired from Mid States Wire after 27 years.

He was a member of National Field Trail Association.
He was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Crawfordsville to Anson and Beulah Mary (Hill) Paxton. He received his education at Roachdale. He married Mary Josephine Crabb Feb. 19, 1956, at Brazil. She survives.

Also surviving are sons Ashley (Donna), Crawfordsville, Charles Allan (Sherri), Rockville, Kevin L. (Kylie), Waynetown, and Perry Jason (Alisha), Waynetown; daughters Cindy (Pud) Patton, Tangier, Becky (Howard) Ambrose, Ladoga, Georgia (John) Birchfield, Crawfordsville, and Sue Anna (Wade) Frazee, Hillsboro; 21 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. His brother George is deceased.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Vernon Dowell officiating. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
