Phyllis Marie Thompson, 94, Crawfordsville, passed away Friday, May 17 at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.
She was born October 18, 124 in Elkhart, IN to Kenneth and Grace (Yeakey) Neff and was a graduate of Elkhart High School and Indiana Business College. She married Russell Thompson on April 4, 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2015. She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include children Paul Thompson of Crawfordsville, Anthony Thompson (Guy Simpson) of Kansas City, Claudia Herin of Indianapolis, Carolyn Holt (Kelly Frye of Linden, brother, John Neff (Bonnie) of Elkhart, sisters, Kay Tusing of Culver and Mary Golden (Richard) of Elkhart, grandchildren, Kyle Thompson, Curtis Neff, Kristin Ames and Julia Ramos along with seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Karl Thompson, brother, Ralph Bud Neff and sisters, Pat Strong and Joan Dinehart.
After marriage, she helped support her family working as a church secretary and Avon sales. She was talented at crocheting, knitting, sewing, cooking, and food preservation. She had great faith in God and family. She always looked forward to visiting, eating out, traveling and finally dancing in heaven with Russell. No longer will she suffer the effects of childhood polio.
A very loving and kind woman who will be remembered and dearly missed. Sending a heartfelt thank you to the incredible and caring woman at Wellbrooke. They gave her tender care and love.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 28 at Christ Lutheran Church with Pastor Kelly Nelson officiating. Friends may call 11-1 Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Quilt Fund, 300 S, Boulevard, Crawfordsville, IN 47933
