Richard Paul Austin passed away on September 10th, 2023 at the age of 67 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. He retired from Acuity's after 31 years in 2018.

He loved visiting with family, fishing, hunting, family vacations, and most of all he loved his grandkids.

He was born January 25, 1956, in Valparaiso IN to Gloria (Rawson) and James Austin.

He leaves behind his wife, Barbara Austin of Crawfordsville, daughters, Alisha (Jason) Paxton Rockville, Jennifer Shadle, Crawfordsville, and Stephanie (Dustin) Ward of Jamestown; brothers, Gary (Rhea) Austin, Martinsville, Bob Austin, Indianapolis, Ed Austin of Colorado; sisters, Susan McGuire of Crawfordsville, Gail Barker of Demotte; four granddaughters (Brittanie, Haylee, Hannah and Cali) three grandsons (Perry, Eston and Jack) one great grandson (Emmett) and one great granddaughter (Ellee) Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Preceded in death by parents James and Gloria Austin, a niece, Teresa Lanie, and nephew, Nathan Austin.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Stedge officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery South.  Visitation will be from 12-2pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
