Richard L. Nichols, 79, Crawfordsville, passed away November 22 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on January 14, 1941 in Crawfordsville.  He married Shirley Hendricks and she survives.

Mr. Nichols retired from the Crawfordsville Fire Department.

Survivors include his wife Shirley, sons, Brad, Tony (Lana) and Ricky, all of Crawfordsville along with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Kevin Howey officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery on Grant Avenue.  Friends may call from 11-1 Wednesday at the funeral home.

Social distancing is expected along with masks.
