Obituary
Richard S. Valliere, 61, of Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital of Crawfordsville.
Mr. Valliere was born April 22, 1949 in Bay City, Mich. He is the son of Richard and Carolyn (Price) Valliere.
He was a Crawfordsville High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971. He married Janet Strickler. She survives. He retired from Raybestos and was also a farmer. He was a member of the Montgomery County Pioneer Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by "special daughter," Jamie Stephenson of Crawfordsville; cousins, Don Prather of Crawfordsville and Jerry (Marleen) Hurst of Coatesville; "special granddaughters" Kaitlyn and Payton.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Thomas officiating. Burial will be at Darlington Greenlawn Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion/VFW.
Friends and family can pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Purdue veterinary hospital or the animal shelter.
