Rickey Greg Cook died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, in McCordsville, at the age of 67.
Rickey is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children, Kristi Cook of Roachdale, Diana (Mike) Rumple of Indianapolis, Hope Cook of Crawfordsville, Camille (Govind) Singh of McCordsville, Derrick (Donna) Cook of Indianapolis and Mariah Cook of McCordsville; grandchildren, Chance, Karma, Eric, Hazel and Alexandria; and brothers, Danny (Shirley) Cook and Darrell (Janice) Cook.
He is preceded in death by parents Max and Virginia Cook and brother Larry Cook.
Rickey was born Jan. 10, 1950, at Crawfordsville. He and Jeanette shared 38 years of marriage together. He worked for Raybestos Powertrain for 47 years and retired in 2016. He and his wife raised six wonderful children. His children remember him as a kind, gentle and wonderful father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Rickey was a skilled guitar player and played in the band Rosewood Ash for several years. He loved to bowl and bowled on the Merchant League and other mixed leagues for several years. He also had a passion for traveling and spending time with his family. He was a generous and funny man that loved to tell jokes and make others smile. He was an active and dedicated member of the Whitesville Christian Church.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8 at Hunt and Sons Funeral Home, Crawfordsville. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Whitacre officiating. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Rickey's life.
