Robert L. Duncan, 96, passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018.
He was born Sept. 29, 1921, at Kingman, to Frederick T. and Edith (McCreary) Duncan. He graduated from Kingman High School in 1939. He served in the U.S. Army for three years in Army finance, two of those years in the South Pacific. He earned his master's degree from Indiana University and taught in Indiana for 10 years before moving to Phoenix, Arizona to teach. He retired in 1983. He belonged to the American Legion and enjoyed playing golf and had a 5 handicap.
On Nov. 22, 1999, he married Mary Rose Paddock Martin and she survives. Also surviving are children, Mona (Larry) Ryker, Glenda Rice (Eric) Small; step-daughters, Anita (Don) Hopper and Rhonda (Phil) Springer; grandchildren, Chris (Elizabeth) Conrad, Erin (Jason) Pfledderer and Chad (Shalagh) Rice; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by grandson Brian Rice.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation was chosen and no services are planned at this time.
