Robert Lee "Nailbender" Green of Darlington died at
12:47 a.m. Sunday at his home. He was 79.
Mr. Green worked as a maintenance technician. He served in the Navy in Korea.
He was a life-long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also did two-way CB radio sales and repairs for more than 45 years
He was born Dec. 6, 1932, at Michigantown, to Earl L. and Violet (Naïve) Green. He married Jackie Guttridge. She died in 2007.
Survivors include: sons, Brian (Paula) of Darlington and Mike of Crawfordsville; daughters, Melanie (Rick) Brown of Darlington, Tammy (Andy) Doty of Richmond, Ky., and Bobbie (Tom) Lutes of Lafayette; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville, with his son Michael Green officiating. Burial will be at Darlington Green Lawn Cemetery with military rites conducted by the VFW and American Legion. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
