Obituary

Robert M. Hardaway, 85 of New Ross, passed away 8:45pm Monday in his residence.

Mr. Hardaway was a farmer. He was a member of the Mace United Methodist Church and the New Ross American Legion.

He was born October 21, 1921 in Boone County to Edgar E. & Eva Foote Hardaway. He was a graduate of New Ross High School.

Mr. Hardaway served in WWII with the US Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He was a Tech Sergeant with the 304th Troop Carrier Squad.

He married Martha J. Dice, she survives. Also surviving are a son James R. Hardaway of New Ross; daughters Barbara J. Scattergood of Richmond, VA & Patricia Hardaway of New Ross; Two brothers James E. Hardaway of Crawfordsville, and William E. Hardaway of Altamont, IL; a sister Clara Buck of Crawfordsville also survives. Seven Grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive. He was preceded in death by a daughter Anne E. Hadson, Brother Charles W. Hardaway, and a sister Martha Sabens.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Ward officiating. Friends may call from 4-7pm Wednesday. Interment will be in the Mace Community Cemetery with Military rites at graveside.
