Robert E. Lawton, 76, of Crawfordsville passed away Thursday evening, May 30, 2019, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.

He was born Dec. 28, 1942, at Crawfordsville, to Harry and Mildred (Barton) Lawton. He retired from RR Donnelly's where he had worked in the maintenance department.

He married Virginia Parker on Sept. 14, 1963. She survives. Also surviving are Bobby of Ladoga, Phillip of Crawfordsville and Tammy (Jack) Elless of Ladoga; grandchildren, Travis, Matthew, Dusty, Austin and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Anelia, Adelyn and Everly; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bud Lawton.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with his grandson, Matt Elless, officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery South. Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Casual attire is requested.
