Robert Lee Lowe, 88, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Friday at his home in Crawfordsville.

Mr. Lowe was born on March 21, 1923 in Crawfordsville to Emory and Ida M. Marcum Lowe. After Crawfordsville High School, he served in the U.S. Army and fought in World War II in Rhineland, Ardennes and central Europe. He married Aileen Sneath in 1949. She survives.

He was a linotype operator at RR Donnelley & Sons. In addition, he was a member of 1st Christian Church and a former member of the American Legion and the Civic Band.

Other survivors include three daughters, Jo Ellen Coffin of Crawfordsville, Cynthia L. (Kenneth) Addler of Linden and Beth (Bing) Griffin of St. Louis; one son, Don (Margo) Rubin-Foster of Indianapolis; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen. A visitation will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the family home at 209 S. Country Club Court.
