Robert L. (Bob) Morris, 79, of Crawfordsville, passed away at 7:16 a.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mr. Morris was born Jan. 27, 1928 in Elmira, N.Y. to Leroy V. and Margaret Murray Morris.

He was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Syracuse University and was affiliated with Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He served his country as a United State Army Signal Corps during World War II. He married Eleanor June Wood, Nov. 10, 1951 in Elmira, N.Y. She survives. He retired in 1988 from Alcoa- H-C after working there 28 years. He was Co Founder and First President, Director of Montgomery County Association for Retarded Children, former District Chairman of Lew Wallace District of Boy Scouts of America, Past Director of Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Council on the Arts and MUFFY.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert A. Morris of Lafayette, Richard A. (Donna) Morris of Romney and James L. (Lorraine) Morris of Muncie; two daughters, Linda A. (Mark) Kelp of Wingate and Susan E. (Clark) Jackson of Crawfordsville; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hoenshell officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery North.

Friends and family can pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
