Robert J. Morrow, 82 passed away Tuesday at St. Clare Medical Center.
He was born October 25, 1923 in Crawfordsville to Paul Reed & Julia Almarine Long Morrow. He graduated Crawfordsville High School in 1941. Bob was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving from 1942-1945 as a corporal in the 3rd Marine Division, 9th Regiment, 2nd Battalion, Fox Company. He served in the pacific theater including the Battle of Bougainville on Guadalcanal, Guam and Iwo Jima. He was wounded in action on both Guam and Iwo Jima and received a Purple Heart with gold star. He was also awarded a bronze star, Asiatic Pacific Campaign ribbon and WWII Victory Medal.
He married Isabel Sneath, she preceded him in death. He is survived by four daughters; Sandra Coffing, Nancy (Tom) Armstrong, Robin (Dave) Mitton, and Kelly (Craig) Harmon, all of Crawfordsville. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday September 29 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Sparks officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery South with Military rites at graveside. Friends may call from 4-8 Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to:
