Obituary

Robert Foster Williamson, 92, passed September 10 at Whitlock Place.

He was born December 12, 1926 in Crawfordsville and was a 1944 graduate of Ladoga High School where he played basketball. He worked for R. R. Donnelly's as Prepress technician, retiring in 1991 and was a member of Ladoga Presbyterian Church.

He joined the U.S. Navy on December 1, 1944 and received his training at U.S. Naval Training Center in Great Lakes, IL.  He was stationed on the USS Tabora AKA45. He was honorably discharged from the Navy on August 17, 1946.

He was a kind, warm hearted man who loved his family and sports.

He married Helen Williams in 1947 and they lived in Ladoga for 68 years before moving to Whitlock Place in 2015. Bob and Helen had been married for 71 years at her passing in August of 2018.

Survivors include his children, Steve (Ruthanna) and Dave (Janie), both of Crawfordsville, sister, Janet (Dave) Caster of Labelle, FL along with 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in-law, Maxine Williamson, brother-in-law, Homer Williams, sister-in-law, Mary Walters, Rosemary Williams, Doris Dice and brother-in-law-Jim Dice.

Funeral services will be held Noon Saturday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with Mike Whitacre officiating.  Friends may call two hours prior to the service.  Burial with military rites will follow at Oak Hill cemetery South.
