Mola
October 20, 1952 – October 29, 2021
Roger Anthony Mola, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Dayton, OH after a long battle with leukemia. He was born in East Chicago, IN, the son of Anthony and Julia Mola. Roger was a 1970 Graduate of Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, IN. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Lewis University in Chicago. While at Purdue Roger became a proud member of Delta Sigma Fraternity and after graduation he went on to serve on the Alumni Control Board of their Delta Delta Chapter. He also served the National organization as a District Governor and was elected to the Grand Council as Treasurer.
Roger served as a Deacon in the Presbyterian Church both in Clarendon Hills, IL, and Spokane, WA. In both locations, he also served as Treasurer. He served on the board of Christian Youth Theatre Spokane and was awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award in 1984. He was on the Nat'l ACMA Board and received their Distinguished Service Award.
In 1988 he married his wife of 33 years, Mary Katherine (Kathy) Richmond. Roger and Kathy are the parents of 2 children, Rachel Mola, of Indianapolis and Jared Mola, of Dayton, OH.
Roger is survived by his wife and children, his sister Maryallyn Dennison of Freeport, Maine, in-laws Bill and Linda Richmond of Crawfordsville, his sister and brother-in-laws, Lisa and Bob Kaeser, Leigh Ann and Pat Vacendak, Kent and Kristie Richmond, Monica and Greg Winer, and 10 beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his niece Hanna Dennison. He cherished his lifelong friendships, especially those from his fraternity, churches, and his Wabash family.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wed. Nov. 3 at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, IN. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 4 at 11 am at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church in Crawfordsville with visitation one hour before services (Masks are required in the church.) The Rev. John Van Nuys officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetary will be private.
