Obituary
Ron E. Newlin, 54, Crawfordsville passed away Friday July 13, 2007 at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital.
He was First Sergeant with the Montgomery County Sherriff's Department and served as the County DARE officer of 16 years.
Ron was a 1970 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. He was a member of New Hope Christian Church, Fraternal Order of Police, Indiana Sherriff Association, Indiana DARE Officers Assoc., & The National DARE Officers Assoc.
He was born October 27, 1952 to William and Mary Taylor Newlin. He married Lynne Hintz May 20, 1983 in Crawfordsville. She survives.
Also surviving are his sons Matthew W. Newlin and Mitchell J. Newlin both at home. A brother Dave (Diane) Newlin of Crawfordsville; Sisters Angela (Larry) Burchett of Crawfordsville, and Marsha (Ralph) Frampton of Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held 10:30am Tuesday July 17 at New Hope Christian Church with the Revs. Harold Keck and Dale Baldwin officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery North. Friends may call from 4-8 Monday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home.
