Ronald was born Oct. 20, 1963, at Crawfordsville, to Jerry A. and Sharon (Coltharp) Taylor of Crawfordsville.

He graduated from Crawfordsville High School and became a self-employed carpenter. He also briefly served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include: his wife of 38 years, LeeAnn Simms Mayfield; daughter Kelly J. (Dustin) Priddy of Darlington; son John C. Mayfield of Brownsburg; two brothers, Jerry W. Mayfield and Tony J. (Candy) Oaks, both of Crawfordsville; sisters, Sara J. (Ricky) Williams of Russiaville and Shirley J. McMirtrey of Brazil; mother-in-law Sharon Niece of Crawfordsville; two lovely granddaughters, Holly and Olivia Priddy; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brother Lesley Dale Oaks Jr.; grandparents, James and Lillian Coltharp of Brazil; and Lloyd Fairfield of Crawfordsville.
