Ronald D. Melvin, Crawfordsville, passed away peacefully at his home on January 26, 2016.
He was born in Crawfordsville on July 13.1965 to Larry Melvin and the late Annie Gardner.
He was educated at Crawfordsville H.S., class of 1984, and Ball State University.
He thoroughly enjoyed his career as a flight attendant and trainer from 1995-2015 for Air Tran Airlines, Midway Airlines and for the
past several years for Southwest airlines. He made many
friends nationwide in this field and was admired by all.
He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will
be missed and remembered always.
His strength during his last year of illness inspired
everyone.
He loved adventure. One of his passions was riding his
Harley into the mountains around Las Vegas where he
was stationed for Southwest Airlines. He also loved bike
riding, photography, and auto racing.
Survivors include his father, Larry Melvin, Kentland;
sister, Jeri Remley (Bob); cousins, Darin Hutson (Paula);
Derrick Hutson (Niki); Jennifer Hamilton (Chris);
Caleb Craig (Courtney); John Craig (Amy); aunt, Phyllis
Craig (John); uncle Sonny Hutson (Laura) and uncle
Gene Melvin (Pat).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Gardner,
step father, Frank Gardner, step mother, Erdean
Melvin and his aunt Joan Hutson.
Friends and family may pay their respects Saturday
from 2-4 p.m. at Hunt and Son funeral home. Service
will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Todd Randles will be
officiating.
