Ruth M. Walden, 88, Crawfordsville, passed away Tuesday at Wellbrooke of Crawfordsville.

She was born July 22, 1930 in Ironwood Township, MI to Tovio and Selma (Tassava) Palojarvi.  She graduated from Luther L. Wright Highschool in Ironwood, MI.  She married Wendell Walden in 1948 and he preceded her in death on September 18, 1999.

She was a charter member of Christ Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed making greeting cards for family and friends, quilting, crossword puzzles, knitting and reading.

Survivors include a son, Rick (Shirley) Walden of Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren Stephanie (Paul) Walden-Schawake, Kathy (Jim) Sering-Burbrink, Debbie Wiltermood, Christie (Thomas) Ford, Amy Allen, Cate Walden, Patrick (DayeAnn) Walden;15 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, brother David Palojarvi, sisters Ann Thurston and Natalie (John) Rhea of Phoenix, AZ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, children, Mike Walden and Brenda Bakes, daughter in law, Becky Walden, brothers Leslie Palojarvi (who died in infancy) and John Palojarvi along with brother and sisters in law.

She was proud of her Finnish heritage.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Hunt and Son Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
