Sara Lang, 75, of Crawfordsville, Indiana passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025 after twenty-two years of living independently.

Sara was born to Orville and Mary (Hayes) Gutteridge of Oakwood, Illinois, grew up on a farm and graduated from Oakwood High School. Sara had a predisposition for numbers and was educated in accounting. Sara worked in accounting for several companies, the last being COSTCO of Kirkland, Washington.

Sara married Tom Lang from Danville, Illinois on October 9, 1976, at Oakwood, Illinois. In the early 1980's, Tom and Sara ventured to Seattle Washington, where they embarked in a shared love of antiques. They searched for and refinished antique furniture from all over the county. They owned and operated the Early Attic and Old Basement antique stores in Metropolitan Seattle.

Sara's first love was softball and racing cars! Sara was quite good at both and had several trophies.

Sara experienced a severe stroke in 2002 and after rehabilitation, she and Tom moved to Crawfordsville, Indiana, to be near family. Shortly after the move, Tom passed away. With self determination, perseverance and help from family, chosen friends that became her family, she was able to live independently for twenty-two years.

Sara is survived by the Don Lang family of Crawfordsville, Indiana, several nieces, plus, chosen family at Barefoot Burger, Creekside Lodge, Magic Mirror and Sara's longtime housekeeper and friend Christy Swick.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Mary Gutteridge, brother, Larry Gutteridge, (CA), her husband Tom Lang (March 23, 2003), and nephew, Jeffrey Lang.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday November 8, 2025 at Oak Hill Cemetery North.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
