Obituary
Schuyler (Skeet) Haines, 89, of Crawfordsville passed away Nov. 6, 2015 at 1:27am at Wellbrooke surrounded by family.
He was born in Huntington, In. To George and Mae (Mow) Haines on May 16, 1926. He married the love of his life, Cozetta Jane Neher on March 11, 1949. Skeet graduated from Huntington High School in 1944, and Tri-state with a B.A. in 1954.
Skeet served in the 77th Cavalry Division in the U.S. Army during WWII. He received 2 bronze stars during his service in the Pacific. Skeet retired in 1989 from Stetler Chevrolet. Afterwards, he worked at Hoover Elementary School for 18 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Cozetta Haines of Crawfordsville IN, a son, David (Camille) Haines of Daleville; a daughter, Sharon Birt of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Adam Haines, Tiffany Hamilton, Maggie Walsh, Eric Birt, Anthony Birt, and Daylene Dagley; and great-grandchildren, Noah, Naomi, Cameron, Keagan, Destiny, Scarlett, and Stella.
Skeet was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
Private family services will be held with military rites. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Mausoleum.
