Shirley Elizabeth Thomas Aycox, 74, passed away early October 5 ^th . She departed peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family. She was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Mary Elizabeth Thomas, her husband Randall Buhrmester. She is survived by her brother Clyde (Tommy) Thomas Jr. and dog Oreo, her children; Randy (Kelly) Buhrmester, Beverly (Jim) Nickerson, Rhonda Edwards and Robert Hartsock, as well as six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was a big fan of bird watching, her garden, Hallmark movies and most of all spending time with her family laughing. She was well known for her green beans and devilled eggs especially at the holidays and was a great supporter of the United States military.

Visitation service will be 1pm to 3pm Saturday October, 8 at Hunt & Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville, with a service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hunt & Son to assist with memorial service expenses or to the Wounded Warrior foundation in her honor.
