Shirley Ford

Shirley Ford, 91, of St. John Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.

She was born June 13, 1935, in Ladoga, Indiana, to James and Ada McClellan Stewart.She was a 1953 graduate of New Market High School.

Shirley worked as an Administrative Assistant at South Suburban Hospital in Hazelcrest, IL, for many years. She was an active member of Calvary United Protestant Church in Park Forest, Illinois. She was also an avid Bulls fan and loved to go antiquing.

Shirley married Richard Ford on June 16, 1962; he preceded her in death on October 12, 1994.

Survivors include her Children: Samuel (Kristen) Ford, Timothy Joe (Sheryl) Ford, Kelly (Steve) Ford-Ferminella, and Michael (Gina) Ford; A sister, Bonnie Jean Jolly; and 5 grandchildren, as well as 3 great-grandchildren with another the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Marion Stewart, Anna Ruth Graham, Mary Frances Noland, and Carolyn Bernice Wilson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, with Leslie VanHook officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
