Shirley McQueen, 81, Crawfordsville, passed away Wednesday at the Ben Hur Nursing Home.
She was a 1950 Crawfordsville High School graduate and then went to Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. She was a nurse before going to work at Raybestos. Her memberships included Christ's United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was born March 2, 1932 in Crawfordsville to Foster and Lula (Shrewsbury) Hicks. Survivors include children, Dee Dee (Jory) Prather of Lebanon and Steve (Jeanie) Hammel of New Albany, grandchildren, Ryan Lister (Anthony Masseria) of Indianapolis and Shannon (Billy) Richardson of Hawley, TX and Ryan Hammel and his fiance Kasey Trinkle. She is also survived by great grandchildren Michael, Jade and Sophia. Preceding her in death is a son, Dennis McQueen.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday at Fairview Cemetery in North Salem. Friends may call 2:00-5:00 PM Sunday at Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses.
