Steven Dee Hall, 68, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.

He was born Aug. 2, 1949, at Indianapolis, to John and Grace (Dorrell) Hall and was the eldest of seven children, Sam (Ann), Ron (Charlene), Becky (Martin Kelsey), Ed (Yo-Sun), Cindy (Kevin McCandless) and Sheri (Mike Hesler).

Steve graduated from the final class of Alamo High School in 1967. He went on to serve in the Army from 1969-1971 and honorably in the Vietnam War. Steve worked hard every day of his life and always helped others before himself. He never met a stranger and will be remembered fondly as a loyal husband, son, brother, father and steward of the Lord. He was a member of Mount Hope Church in Lafayette, where he greeted visitors and members with smiles and love.

Steve's mother, Annetta Grace, cleared his path to Heaven. Loved ones who will miss him until they meet again are his wife, Sandy; his father, John; his children, Chris (Kim), Travis (Mindi), Trent (Alyx), Crystal, Tia (Steve Tidwell); and his 10 grandchildren, Austin, Hunter, Mason, Haylee, Morgan, Gabe, Kadin, Paige, Adalynn and Avery.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 3, at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave., Crawfordsville, with Pastor Bryan Courtney officiating. The family will greet friends from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following. He will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery outside of New Ross.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, where he passed after a short battle with cancer.
