Teresa Newkirk, known as Meme to her grandchildren, Crawfordsville, passed away July 9, 2025 at Franciscan St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette surrounded by her loving family. She was 67 years old.

She was born March 26, 1958 in Crawfordsville to Darrel and Lula Ann (Underwood) Fletcher. In 1975 she married Herschel Newkirk and he preceded her in death.

She enjoyed shopping, watching tv and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  She also loved her dogs and was known for her wild, kind and loving personality.

Surviving are her children; Angie (Todd) Roberts, Rodney (Ashley) Newkirk, Cassie (Nick) Kader and D.J. (Meagan) Newkirk. Also surviving are her grandchildren; T.J., Alexia, Reese, Ethan, Marlee, Starla, Veeonna, Gabriel, Cayden, Kailynn, Temperance and Wilder, brothers; Steve (Ami) Fletcher and Ronnie (Kim) Fletcher, special friends, Sharon "Granny" Lawton, Kathy (Dale) Wilson and Shannon (Troy) Payne.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tim Fletcher.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
