Terri (Young) Gilstrap, 73, passed away Sunday, December 28, at IU West Hospital in Avon after a lengthy battle with liver disease.
She was born on November 16, 1952, in Crawfordsville to Jack & Jean Sutherlin Young and grew up on a farm in Ladoga. She was the last person to graduate from Ladoga High School. She married Donald Gilstrap II on July 16, 1977; he survives.
Terri started work as a secretary for Young, Harris and Harvey Law Offices in the Ben Hur Building, and most recently as a paralegal for the Law Office of Bill Gobel, where she retired in 2020. She was an avid reader and loved to travel and sit on the beach. She was her family's biggest cheerleader at all events, and everyone's helping hand and greatest supporter.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Aimie (Dustin Rogers), and Seth (Doree) Gilstrap; Grandchildren: Alexandrea (Jacob) Thompson, Taylor (Cole Long) Zachary, Macy Zachary, Austin Rogers, and Harper Gilstrap; as well as 4 great-grandsons, Silas, Arlo, Ezra, and Jaevid. She also has three brothers, Roger, Brad, and Britt Young, and was preceded in death by her sister Janet Ball.
Graveside services will be Saturday, January 3rd at 2:00 pm at Ladoga Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life at the Old Normal School Event Center from 3-7 pm.
