Terry Lee Shelton

Terry Lee Shelton, 84, passed away August 8, 2026 at his residence.

He was born August 13, 1942, in Crawfordsville to Leslie and Harriett (Haskett) Shelton. He had worked as a pressman at R. R. Donnelly’s and served six years in the United States Marine Corps.

He was the youngest of four children: Larry Shelton and Robert Shelton (both deceased), Carolyn Brewer (Ivan Brewer, deceased).

He is survived by a daughter, Teresa Carey-Billingsley, step-daughters, Cheryl (Ritchie) Jones, Martoma (Chris) Wilson; and preceded in death by step-son, Charles William Knee, Jr. In addition, he has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He didn’t know a stranger and loved the outdoors. He liked hunting for arrowheads and crinoids. He also liked to get out and visit old friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Kevin and Tammy Bonebrake for all they have done for him.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at Freedom Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Bridgam officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #72 and the United States Marine Corps.
