Obituary
Thomas M. Dawson, 60, Crawfordsville passed away 10:47 AM Tuesday at his residence.
Mr. Dawson operated Tom Dawson appraisals where he was a real estate appraiser. His memberships included Smartsburg Christian Church, Moose Lodge #6, VFW #1431 and American Legion #72 where he was a both a member and past officer and also member of The Sons of the American Legion.
He was a 1965 graduate of Crawfordsville High School and attended The John Herron Art Institute and S.A.M.S./Technical Institute of Indiana University. In addition, Mr. Dawson was a veteran of the Army National Guard, serving in the 38th Infantry Division as a helicopter electrician.
He was born on August 3, 1947 in Crawfordsville to Russell Dawson and Doris Rosen Dawson. He married Rhonda Vice on March 20, 1971 and she survives. Also surviving are a son, Kane (Kristin) of Philadelphia, PA and a daughter, Dana (Chris) Ewoldt of Crawfordsville and brothers, Jim, Jeff and Steve, also of Crawfordsville. In addition, seven grandchildren survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Saturday at the American Legion Post #72. Rev. Michael Parks will officiate. Military Rites will be performed at 5:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Tom Dawson Scholarship for the Arts. Envelopes will be available.
