Thomas Bayless passed away peacefully in his home, the farm he loved so much. Thomas was the youngest of three. Parents Wauneta and Fred Bayless. Thomas was born June 10, 1938, in Crawfordsville, Indiana and spent most of his life in rural Montgomery County.

Thomas attended Wilson School, Crawfordsville Junior/Senior High School, class of 1956. He went on to attend Purdue University, IU/PUI and graduated from Approved University of Beauty Culture and Indiana Real Estate School. He was a licensed Cosmetologist and Real Estate Broker. Thomas owned and operated Coiffures by Thomas for fourteen years. Thomas was a six-year member in the U.S. Army Reserves in Waveland, Indiana. He reached the rank of Sergeant.

Thomas began his career in farming by assisting his father plant corn from the back of a converted horse-drawn corn planter in 1952. During that year, the crop was harvested by hand. Thomas purchased his first farm in 1963. In addition to farming, Thomas sold automobiles and worked for the Department of Administration in Purchasing and was Real Estate Leasing Manager. Thomas retired from the State in 1994 and continued his farming career, which was always his first love. Thomas retired from farming. However, continued to raise Black Angus cattle. He loved his cattle.

Thomas loved the outdoors. Hunting and fly-in fishing trips to Canada. He loved to travel and do woodworking. Thomas and Jamie loved the Caribbean and spent many vacations in Mexico.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Fred P. Bayless, as well as his two sons, Jeffrey, and Allen Bayless.

Thomas is survived by his lifetime love of his life, Jamie Sue Taylor Bayless and daughter, Shannon Marie Taylor. Also survived by three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 7th at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00. Burial will be held at Freedom Cemetery.
