Thomas Essex Luster died Friday at St. Clare Medical Center.
Mr. Luster worked at Shaver's Hatchery, Mid-States Steel and Wire Company and Hardware Wholesalers, Inc., in Fort Wayne. In later years, he worked with son David in Wheaton, Ill., as manufactures representatives and hardware industry consultants.
He was a 1947 Crawfordsville High School graduate and an alumnus of Wabash College and Indiana University.
He was born Aug. 23, 1929, at Crawfordsville, to Thomas F. and Martha Elizabeth Essex Luster. He married Nella Marie Hunter Jan. 17, 1952, at Crawfordsville. She survives.
Also surviving are sons Jeffrey Thomas (Vera) Luster, Steamboat Springs, Colo., and David Scott (Sue) Luster, Wheaton, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Mary Oldham Luster; and sister Elizabeth Ann (Libby) Smith.
Private graveside ceremonies will be at Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Frank McCurry officiating. There will be no calling.
