Trillis Lucretia Gardner Caldwell of Crawfordsville died
Saturday at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. She was 81.
Mrs. Caldwell had worked as a home health care provider.
She started the scarf program for soldiers in Iraq and President
Bush mentioned her while on a visit to Indianapolis.
She was born July 11, 1930, at Veedersburg, to Gordon
and Irene (Smith) Harper. She married Harvey M. Caldwell
in 1973. He died in 1983.
Survivors include: daughter Jeri Remley of Crawfordsville;
son Richard Gardener of Crawfordsville; stepson Brad Caldwell
of Crawfordsville; stepdaughter Amy Caldwell of
Lafayette; sister Kay Hallett of Crawfordsville; four grandchildren;
and 10 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen with private family services. Hunt
& Son Funeral Home is assisting the family.
